It includes many new blogging and website improvements, as well as new features.

Some of the new features and changes include:

Experienced users will appreciate the new drag-and-drop uploader, hover menus for the navigation, the new toolbar, improved co-editing support, and the new Tumblr importer. We’ve also been thinking a ton about what the WordPress experience is like for people completely new to the software. Version 3.3 has significant improvements there with pointer tips for new features included in each update, a friendly welcome message for first-time users, and revamped help tabs throughout the interface. Finally we’ve improved the dashboard experience on the iPad and other tablets with better touch support.

Flash is the source of much debate, some love it and some hate it. We tend to think Flash has it’s place, though it’s often used out of place. So we do suggest using it responsibly and tastefully :)

We are utilizing special JavaScript called “SWF Object” to allow you to add Flash to your pages. Specifically, we’re using the plugin SwfObj. This is now available to all users.

A great tool to make sure your old links go to your new content is called Redirection. This is a very robust plugin, but the basics of it are simple to use.

To use it, simply put in the URL (web address) of a page on your old site, then below it choose the URL of the corresponding page on your new site and hit save. It’s that easy. That way you don’t get penalized (SEO) for having missing pages (404′s) on your new site, and visitors to your site wont even notice the page has moved.

This plugin is available to all users starting today!
